Weekend Rowing until October 18th

BRASS Members,

Now that our boathouse staff has returned to college/high school, we are faced with a weekend scheduling challenge. Not willing to have the season end too early we are asking members to reserve the weekends they want to row, until October 18th, so that we can make arrangements to staff the boathouse. This information needs to be submitted by Wednesday September 17th via the email address berkshirerowingandsculling@gmail.com OR reserve on the boathouse voicemail. We will make every attempt to meet your request. Also, be aware that we are entering the racing season so a requested boat may not be available on some dates because it has already been reserved for a race. Thank you for being flexible.

Member’s Club Day, August 9th, 8:30 to 10:00

BRASS Members,
I almost let this one get by me. So sorry for the late notice, but the August Club Day is this Saturday Aug 9th from 8:30 to 10:00. As always, any 2014 member of BRASS can come to the BRASS Boat House between 8:30 and 10AM and row a boat with no rental fee.  It’s a chance to try rowing in a double or a quad with other members or  jump in a single you have not rowed before. Or even just go out in your favorite shell if it is available. The turn out for the July Club Day was terrific, lets see if we can match it! Remember members only. Food offerings are always welcome.

EXPERIENCED ROWERS’ COACHING CLASSES

BERKSHIRE ROWING AND SCULLING ASSOCIATION
EXPERIENCED ROWERS’ COACHING CLASSES

Dear Fellow Rowers,

BRASS is once again pleased to offer Sundays with Yuri for the more experienced rowers in the club. You will work on technique, drills and just fun to make us better rowers and better racers if that is your personal goal. Last year many of our members participated in these coached sessions and learned a lot from this experience.

This year’s Sunday programs will be held on June 1st, 8th, 22nd and July 13th. The format this year is four continuous sessions so that you can build upon what was learned in the prior session. Each Sunday will have four rowers in two separate sessions: 6:30 to 7:45 a.m. and 8:00 to 9:15 a.m. Each session will be divided to match a participant’s ability with those at a similar rowing level. A total of eight committed rowers are needed to run this program. You will experience single and group rowing. If the commitment is less than eight, we will not hold the program and your money will be refunded.

The cost is $125 for members and $150 for non-members. Cost includes boat usage. Payment is required prior to the start of the first day’s program, June 1, 2014. No substitutions of rowers for any sessions can be accommodated.

If you are interested in participating we need full payment prior to the start of the first session. Please make your check payable to BRASS and send it to BRASS, P.O. Box 787, Pittsfield, MA 01202 prior to May 28, 2014. In addition, if you plan on attending please email me your intentions now and prior to May 28, 2014 at annef2@gmail.com. This way we can know the number of attendees and can organize the classes. Any questions, call or email me.
