Coach/Coordinator
Job Description
Head Coach/Coordinator with knowledge and experience teaching sculling and rowing to be part of a growing Rowing Club at Lake Onota in Pittsfield. MA. Mid- May to Oct.
The city of Pittsfield is located in the heart of Berkshire Country. The area “The Berkshires” has a long and well documented, history and background in not only the founding of our nation but more recently, in its many cultural and natural attractions and beauty. Its multi-seasonal climate has attracted world renowned artists, musicians, summer youth camping and a multitude of sports activities. BRASS contributes to this environment.
Qualifications:
- Ability to teach and have organizational skills.
- Experience in all disciplines of rowing and sculling.
- First Aid and CPR course required
- Rowing Certification desirable.
- Ability to be genial and professional with all age groups.
Responsibilities:
- Daily operation of rowing facility at Lake Onota from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m.
- Supervise assistant coaches and volunteers.
- Schedule lessons and boat rentals.
- Teach group lessons and private lessons.
- Inspect boats and equipment for damage or safety issues. Report damage and issues to Boat-wright for repair.
- Educate and enforce Safety Procedures
